Privacy Policy

Plushie Scout ("we," "our," or "the app") is operated by KLMN Studio LLC. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google or Apple (via Clerk), we receive your name and email address. We store the display name and avatar you choose during onboarding. We store the store locations (pins) you create, photos you upload, captions, brand tags, and notes you attach to pins.

What we do NOT collect

• Your real-time location — the blue dot on the map is computed entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers.
• Your age, gender, or phone number — we do not ask for these.
• Passwords — authentication is handled by Google or Apple; we never see your password.
• Browsing or tracking data — we do not use analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or third-party trackers.

How we use your data

Your pins, photos, and notes are shared with other Plushie Scout users on the community map. Your display name appears on pins you create. We use your email solely to manage your account.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We never will.

Photos

Photos you upload are stored on Cloudflare R2 and are visible to all app users. Do not upload photos that contain faces (especially of children), personal information, or anything you would not want publicly visible.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate the app:

• Clerk — authentication (sign-in with Google/Apple)
• Cloudflare R2 — photo storage
• Railway — API hosting and database

Each service has its own privacy policy. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

Children's privacy

Plushie Scout is designed to be used by families. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. Authentication through Google or Apple enforces their minimum-age requirements. If you believe a child has provided data without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

In-app purchases

Plushie Scout may offer a one-time "Scout Pass" purchase. Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google; we do not collect or store credit card information. We store only the transaction ID and platform receipt to verify your purchase.

Data retention & deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data (profile, pins, photos) by emailing privacy@plushiescout.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Security

We use HTTPS for all data in transit, signed URLs for photo access, rate limiting on all endpoints, and follow security best practices. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users in the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
